Ashley Smith is a dynamic non-fiction author and mental health advocate. She self-published seven books that emphasize inspiration, prayer, and hope for recovery. Ashley is a blogger and mental health fighter. Her blog, Overcoming Schizophrenia, was established in 2008. Ashley’s story was featured in the Janssen Pharmaceuticals documentary, Living with Schizophrenia: A Call for Hope and Recovery (2011). She was featured on CNN Human Factor with Sanjay Gupta. The mental health blogger and advocate served as a state board member for NAMI Georgia, Inc. (2012-2014). Currently, she serves on the Self-Discovery: Pain, Positioning, and Purpose, Inc. board and the CURESZ Foundation Advisory Council. She has been working as a peer counselor known as a certified peer specialist to empower individuals living with mental health conditions since 2012.
